About Us
Kym has been working with children since she was in middle school, and has nearly 10 years of professional experience in childcare. She is also a proud homeschool mama to three amazing kids, which has deepened her passion for helping children learn, grow, and explore at their own pace. She is committed to offering a safe, welcoming space where families can feel confident knowing their children are cared for, supported, and encouraged every step of the way.

My Journey
I opened this enrichment center because I have always dreamed of creating a safe, hands-on learning space where children could truly thrive. I wanted to build a place that encourages open-ended play, exploration, and messy creativity - an environment where kids can think freely, make their own choices, and develop a genuine love for learning. I also recognized a need in the community: a place where caregivers could leave their children for a few hours, whether to run errands, enjoy a coffee, or simply take a break, knowing their kids were engaged and cared for. In addition to open play and drop-in care, we offer homeschool classes, filling another important gap for families in our area. We love being a part of the homeschool community and want to help bring more options in for families.
We believe that child development is a natural process best supported through curiosity, exploration, and open-ended play. Children are not empty vessels to be filled, but active participants in their own learning, driven by an innate desire to make sense of the world around them. We believe that real growth happens when children are given the freedom to explore everyday materials, engage with their environment, and follow their own questions. Open-ended play, where there is no "right" answer, nurtures creativity, problem-solving, and deep thinking. Rather than relying solely on structured activities, we see the greatest learning emerging from experiences that are authentic, meaningful, and rooted in real life. It is through simple, everyday moments - stacking blocks, pouring water, gathering leaves - that children develop a true understanding of themselves and their world. As educators and caregivers, our role is to provide rich environments, trust the child's natural drive to learn, and walk alongside them as partners in discovery.

“It’s easy to see Kym is compassionate not only about her work, but about people as well. She is very considerate and patient with the needs of others, creating a warm and welcoming environment not only for children but for adults, too! She brings a light to everything she does and my kids and I love her!"

The staff is warm, approachable, and genuinely enthusiastic about their mission. The space has been designed specifically with families in mind—offering not just a fun play environment, but also a sense of community and support. The play areas are clean, well-organized, and cater to a range of ages and learning styles. It’s clear that a lot of thought went into creating a space that encourages imaginative play, physical activity, and social interaction in a safe and inclusive environment. This is truly a game changer in our little city where we have limited resources for childcare. Highly recommend visiting Growing Curious to anyone in our community.

“Our time at Growing Curious was spent doing open play that our son, 2 years old, enjoyed so much! From stacking blocks, puzzles, to working with nature materials, he was able to absorb so many different forms of sensory activities. The owners were very interactive with the children and parents, giving a very "at home" type of atmosphere. We will definitely be returning!”
Our Philosophy
